Training and Drills

Training and drills are held on a regular basis so firefighters and EMTs can refresh their skills and learn new ones.

January 12, 2012:  EMTs attended a Respiratory Emergencies class at Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad.

December 19, 2011:  Firefighters and EMTs had an outdoor Search and Rescue Drill.

October 27, 2011:  Firefighters and EMTs practiced using the KED for an MVA victim.

October 23, 2011:  The LTVFD attended an LDH Drill with Califon, High Bridge, and Glen Gardner.

October 10, 2011:  The LTVFD attended a drill at Muller Chevrolet in Stewartsville, NJ, on Hybrid Safety.

August 15, 2011:  The LTVFD held a tanker operations drill at the Municipal Building.

July 18, 2011:  The LTVFD held a scenario-based fire/EMS drill at Memorial Park.

June 20, 2011:  Fourteen members of the LTVFD attended a pump operations and drafting drill held at a pond off of Hoffman's Crossing Road. 

June 16, 2011:   Chief Paul Zanelli of the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad invited the LTVFD to a MedEvac drill held at their station.  Chief Zanelli grilled hamburgers, hotdogs, and bratwurst, and the squad's hospitality was enjoyed by everyone.  Atlantic Air held a presentation for firefighters and EMTs, and anyone else who wanted to learn more about the "Air Ambulance."  After the presentation, a MedEvac helicopter landed in their field, and everyone was allowed to get a closer look while the MedEvac crew members answered questions.  Thanks Chief Zanelli and the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad!
